Dick combines elements of traditional folk, blues and acoustic rock with his own original songs and arrangements. Dick learned his music in the 1960's Boston folk clubs such as the Club 47, The Loft and the Unicorn watching and listening to 60's folk-greats - Bob Dylan, Tom Rush, Dave Van Ronk, The Jim Kweskin Jug Band, Eric Von Schmidt, Taj Mahal, The Charles River Valley Boys, Mark Spoelstra, Pete Seeger, The Holy Modal Rounders and "Spider" John Koerner, to name but a few.

After many years in "music retirement" as a health care administrator, contracts manager, software and real estate salesperson and project manager, "Doc Webb" returned to the New England music scene in 1996, re-starting his career at the Pilgrim Path in Plymouth, MA and other local folk venues.

Over the past fourteen years Dick has performed in many New England venues as a solo performer; with harmonica master Brand Cedrone - appearing as "Doc Webb's Blues 101"; as banjo player and vocalist with (Vic) "Wotherspoon's Jug Stompers" and for six years as lead vocalist and guitarist with "The Resonators". Most recently Dick has been doing  a folk and blues show with bass-man Harry Cook, occasionally playing bluegrass banjo with the band "Cookin' with Harry" and now playing guitar and banjo and singing his heart out with "The String Benders". In Dick's own words, "I'm mostly having fun".

Now Dick divides his time between his family, semi-retirement, web design and management, occasional carpentry gigs, learning the art of the bluegrass banjo, directing the music program at Ward's Berry Farm and, of course, performing - Doc Webb is back! Dick's ringing vocals and humorous stories continue to attract fans on the Eastern Massachusetts folk scene. For those of you who love the acoustic folk tradition, Dick is a must see performer.
