Dick Webb...

. . . combines elements of traditional folk, blues and acoustic rock with his own original songs and arrangements. Dick learned his music in the 1960's Boston folk clubs such as the Club 47, The Loft and the Unicorn watching and listening to 60's folk-greats - Tom Rush, Dave Van Ronk, Jim Kweskin, Eric Von Schmidt, Taj Mahal, The Charles River Valley Boys and "Spider" John Koerner among others.

Over a period of ten years he developed his guitar style and stage presence working in the Boston area, played in a loosely formed jug band and endured many college parties where standing upright indicated a willingness to continue playing music. In 1968 Dick did a brief stint as rhythm guitarist and vocalist for the Boston rock band "Hurt Feelings", learning a valuable lesson regarding the relationship between professional music and hunger ("There's hundreds to be made in the music business...). At about this time an aversion to armed conflict dictated a short stint in alternative service which became a career in health care administration and information systems that has lasted through the present.

After spending nearly 25 years in "music retirement" as a health care administrator, contracts manager, software and real estate salesperson, "Doc Webb" returned to the New England music scene in 1995, re-starting his career at the Pilgrim Path in Plymouth, MA and other local folk venues. For three years Dick was a banjo player and vocalist with "Wotherspoon's Jug Stompers" and then enjoyed five years as guitarist and lead vocalist with "The Resonators". Now Dick divides his time between web site development, spending time with his wife, Pat and two grown daughters in Foxboro and at his house in Woods Hole, and strumming guitar and banjo with friends, neighbors and fans.
